A friend of mine recently called me to request the details of a very easy fruit cobbler-like recipe I had told her about a few months ago. This morning at church she told me that she had made the cobbler for a guest and he said it was some of the best he had ever had! Simple dessert recipes can be hard to come by, but if a cobbler-like treat sounds good - look no further!
Fruit Cobbler (originally titled "Apple Cloud" or "Cherry Cloud", this recipe comes to you courtesy of my dear friend, Brenda)
This recipe is for an 8x8 or 9x9 pan, just double the ingredients for a 9x13
1 can fruit pie filling of your choice (apple, cherry, peach...etc)
1 box Jiffy white cake mix
1/4 cup butter
Preheat oven to 350. Pour pie filling into bottom of pan. Cover the pie filling with the dry cake mix. Slice up the butter into small pieces and place the pieces out on top of the cake mix, leaving a little bit of space between each piece. You could also melt the butter and drizzle it over the top of the cake mix. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cake mix starts to turn light brown. Let cool for about 10 minutes. This tastes wonderful while warm with a scoop of ice cream, but can also be enjoyed at room temperature or chilled!
Enjoy!
